Learn to Lead

Ever hear the question, “How do you get the rope up there anyway?” Now your answer will be, “I climbed up there!”

Learning to lead climb and belay is an exciting next step for participants that already know how to top-rope belay and want to expand their climbing skills. You must be comfortable top-roping a 5.9 at G1 for this course.

The goal of the offering is to equip participants with the skills and knowledge to pass G1’s lead climb and lead belay test.

What You’ll Learn:

Day 1

• Risks
• Equipment
• Clipping
• Lead belay technique
• Mock leading and belaying

Day 2

• Lead climb and lead belay
• Falling and catching practice

Members $110 / Non-Members $150 (Not Including Entry to Facility)

Registration is required. Must be G1 top rope belay certified. Participants must be at least 14 years old. Minors must have a waiver first signed by a parent or guardian.

This class has a minimum participant requirement. The minimum participant requirements must be met within 24 hrs prior to class date. If you are the only one signed up for the class, the class may get rescheduled.

Minimum class size: 2 persons
Maximum class size: 6 persons
