Moon Rock 2024
October 4th (Open Qualifier) & October 5th (Citizens and Open Finals)
October 4th (Open Qualifier) & October 5th (Citizens and Open Finals)
Moon Rock is an epic, daylong event and bouldering competition hosted by G1 Climbing + Fitness that brings in Olympian-level, professional, and Team USA Climbing athletes. It also serves the direct community via citizens’ competition categories. It’s arguably the biggest non-sanctioned bouldering event in the Front Range!
The citizen categories allow the average climber (and gym goer) the opportunity to compete to win or podium in beginner, intermediate, and advanced level categories. The V1 climber has as much of a chance at winning as the V12 climber! Spectators are welcome to come and win raffles and engage with industry leaders, as well as small, local businesses. The evening event draws in our highest spectator numbers and includes a roaring crowd cheering on elite athletes.
Don’t forget to support the local food and beverage scene by stopping by the 4 Noses table for beer and grab something from the food trucks during Moon Rock too!
Test your climbing skills in a redpoint style competition! Each group in the Citizens Category is designed for you to compete against climbers at your ability level. Trophies and prize packages for the top three finishers in each category. Prizes range from climbing shoes to boulder pads and more!
All groups, excluding Masters, will have a male and female division. Registration for the Citizens Category includes a t-shirt, raffle ticket, a free beer (21+), and all day entry to the event. *Each category must have at least six participants to run.
With a modified redpoint style qualifier, and an onsight style final, the Open Category of Moon Rock will be competing for $10,000, with cash prizes being awarded to the top six competitors! Registration for the Open Category includes a t-shirt, raffle ticket, one free beer (21+), and all day entry to the event.
Moon Rock has grown to a two-day event! Not interested in competing? We will have games, vendors, food trucks, raffles, day of deals, and plenty of talented climbers to watch! Spectator tickets are valid for both days.
Can I compete in a Citizens Category and Open Category?
Yes, you can participate in the Open Category and the Citizens Category of the competition. You will need to register for each category.
I’m not sure what Citizens Category I belong to, can I register for more than one?
No, you cannot register for multiple categories in the Citizens Category. Meaning you cannot do both the Citizens Category Beginner and Citizens Category Intermediate, or any combination of the categories. Please pick the one that best suits your ability. We will move you into the correct category if you choose incorrectly.
There’s a morning Citizens Category round #1 and an afternoon Citizens Category round #2, can I do both?
